We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership between Sandooq Al Watan and Junkbot to launch an AI and Robotics Summer Camp in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Fujairah. This initiative aims to provide young minds with an immersive experience in the latest technological advancements, fostering a generation of innovative thinkers and problem solvers.

Sandooq Al Watan is a private sector, not-for-profit, philanthropic organization with a significant endowment approaching AED one billion. H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan is the chairman of the organization.

The summer camp is structured to offer a variety of engaging activities spread over two weeks, focusing on different aspects of AI, robotics, and sustainable technology.

Week 1 Highlights:

  • Recycling to Build a Robot: Participants will creatively reuse materials like empty water bottles and cardboard to construct functional robots, learning the importance of recycling and sustainability.
  • Mars Rover Project: Young scientists will delve into space exploration by building a smart Martian rover capable of navigating autonomously.
  • Smart Home Systems: Campers will explore energy-efficient technologies by creating a green lighting system that responds to human movement, understanding the impact of sustainable building practices.
  • Weather Station Construction: Students will build weather stations to monitor climate conditions, gaining insights into climate change and its effects.

Week 2 Highlights:

  • WhatsApp Chatbot Development: Participants will build a WhatsApp chatbot to answer questions about the UAE, learning about software development and AI.
  • AI Programming with Microcontrollers: This hands-on module will teach the basics of AI programming, enabling students to create AI-integrated projects.
  • Rock Paper Scissors Game Device: Students will design a device to play the classic game, learning about human-technology interaction.
  • Traffic Light System: By constructing a traffic light system, participants will understand the mechanisms behind everyday technology.
